What Is Winter Orientation?
UC Santa Cruz Winter Orientation is a great way to begin your university experience as you enter a new community, a community of scholars. Orientation is designed to welcome new students and their families to the university, and to promote all the opportunities for student academic and personal success available at UC Santa Cruz.
While at orientation, all new students will have the opportunity to select and enroll in winter quarter 2008 classes. You will receive advising, take placement exams, tour the campus, learn to access the many services and resources available, and develop partnerships with students and staff who will assist in your academic and personal endeavors. In addition, you can to learn how to enroll for classes online and have your student identification picture taken.
Please note: Students not able to attend Winter Orientation may enroll in their courses beginning December 17, 2007.
Winter Orientation Family Program
Parents and other family members play a vital role in a student’s successful transition to university life and should be fully informed about UC Santa Cruz and all its resources and services. This program is concurrent with, but separate from, the student program. Parents and family members who may have special needs (e.g., language, physical, or dietary limitations) should contact Campus Orientation Programs at (831) 459-5468.
