Please note: The Math Placement Exam is only necessary for students taking math courses in the fall. Not all courses at UC Santa Cruz require a placement exam.

In an effort to better assist you in preparing for advising and enrollment during Summer Orientation, UC Santa Cruz offers an Off-site Placement Exam in Mathematics. The Placement Exam is scheduled for Saturday, May 17, 2008 from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm, at various locations throughout California. Check-in time is 10:00 am; exam will begin promptly at 10:30 am.

Placement exams serve as assessment tools used to measure your preparation and assist in facilitating the academic advising process. They ensure correct placement at appropriate levels for certain courses prior to enrollment.

Students who are unable to take the test on this date, students who do not live near a test site, or out-of-state students will have many opportunities to take the test while on campus and during Summer Orientation. Students requiring special accommodations must contact the Campus Orientation Programs Office to make arrangements.

Space is limited at each location.
