Academic Advising Fair
Quarry Plaza
Faculty, Undergraduate Advisors, and students representing UC Santa Cruz’s academic departments and programs will be available to talk to incoming students and their families about UC Santa Cruz.

Campus and Student Life Fair

Find out about the many clubs, volunteer organizations, and support services on campus.

Campus Core Walking Tours
Every five minutes, a 30-minute guided tour of the campus core will commence from the south end of the Quarry Plaza.

10:30 A.M to 1:00 P.M.
Tours at Jack Baskin School of Engineering
There will be continuous 30-minute tours departing from the main Baskin Engineering Courtyard of the Jack Baskin School of Engineering from 10:30 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.

College Self-Guided Tours
Discover the distinct academic, social, and cultural environment of any of the ten colleges. Students are not limited by college affiliation; all campus academic programs and resources are open to students of every college. Get your questions answered at information tables at each college.

Tour of the Division of the Arts
Tour the arts, music, theater, and performance studios at Baskin Visual Arts and the Theater Arts Centers. Theater Arts tours run from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M., and the Baskin Visual Arts tours run from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. Meet at the "Tour of the Arts" table at the Media Theater.

1:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M.
Film and Digital Media Production Studio Tour
A tour of the F&DM facilities including classrooms, screening theater, computer lab, “green screen” production studios and editing suites. The tour will begin in front of the Communications Building at 1:00 P.M. A group will walk up to Communications from the F&DM booth in Quarry Plaza beginning at 12:45.

Open Music Rehearsals
Come and join us at the Music Center to observe open rehearsals for some of our ensembles. Rehearsals take place from Noon to 4:00 P.M. A complete schedule of events will be available at the Music Center and Music Department Academic Advising table at the Quarry Plaza.

The Colleges at UC Santa Cruz
Humanities Lecture Hall 206
Learn about the collegiate experience at UCSC. The colleges provide a social community and residential housing on a scale that is small and comfortable. They establish learning communities, intellectual peer groups, and relationships with mentors. Each college sponsors a freshman seminar called the Core Course. College representatives will be available to answer your questions.

Classroom Unit 2
This session will provide a comprehensive overview of UC Santa Cruz's eligibility and selection requirements for freshman admissions. Strategies for academic preparation and tips for selecting extracurricular activities will be provided to help you prepare for our selection requirements. Don't miss this informative session!

Information Systems Management (ISM)

ISM Information Session:
The Information Systems Management (ISM) program at UC Santa Cruz is an exciting program in the School of Engineering that integrates technology and management. The program has the following two major areas of focus:

*    The Technology of Management: the design and use of information technology to efficiently and profitably manage and operate enterprises and companies
*    The Management of Technology: the management, development, and commercialization of technologies and products (e.g., computers, networks, and software)

This information session will address the goals and structure of the program (specializations and courses), internship and career opportunities, and faculty and research areas. There will be sufficient opportunity to have your questions answered about this program.

Educational Opportunity Programs is designed to promote the retention and academic success of first-generation college students, from low-income backgrounds and under-resourced schools and communities. Learn about the programs and services that assist EOP students achieve their personal and academic goals.

A UC Santa Cruz admissions counselor will present information and answer questions about the proper method for prospective freshmen to complete a UC application.

Life as a Transfer Student
Classroom Unit 1
A panel of UC Santa Cruz students who transferred from community colleges and other institutions will share their perspectives and answer questions about being transfer students at UC Santa Cruz.

2:30 – 3:30 P.M.
Computer Science: Computer Game Design Information Session
Engineering Auditorium 101
Computer Game Design is a new, technically focused degree program offered at UC Santa Cruz focusing on the design and development of interactive computer games. This session will provide an overview of the degree program by computer science professors Jim Whitehead and Michael Mateas, as well as demonstrations of games created by game design students. There will be ample opportunity to have your questions answered about this program.

Frosh Financial Aid Workshop
Classroom Unit 2
Participants will learn how and when to apply for financial aid. Staff will discuss the types of financial aid, how financial aid eligibility is calculated, the components of the student budget, and the determination of the family contribution.

Transfer Application Workshop

About 20 percent of the students who enroll at UC Santa Cruz are transferring from other institutions. A UC Santa Cruz admissions counselor will offer information and answer questions on completing the UC application as a transfer student.

McHenry Library and Science Library
UC Santa Cruz Library collections include over 1.3 million books, 9,000 periodicals, and a rich variety of electronic databases and nonprint media and are housed in the McHenry Library in the center of campus and the Science Library on Science Hill. Open today 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 P.M.

East Field House
The Office of Physical Education, Recreation, and Sports (OPERS) offers classes and programs related to student wellness and fitness, intramural events, recreational classes, workshops, and outings, and a competitive intercollegiate athletics program. All students have direct access to all programs and drop-in use of facilities.
