DESCRIPTION
In 1999, the Art Department opened new state-of-the-art
studios, each designed for specific art practices
and built to strict environmental standards. The
facilities include: new painting studios featuring
extraordinary natural lighting; a nationally renowned
printmaking studio housing traditional equipment
for etching, lithography, and other printmaking,
as well as advanced computing equipment for photographic
and digital imaging; studios dedicated to installation
and intermedia work; an environmentally friendly
photography studio; and a bronze foundry, the
only such facility within the UC system.
