UC High School Counselor Conference 2020

UC continues to be committed to offering the UC High School Counselor Conference this fall to facilitate greater engagement and communication with our partners in the counseling community. Working together, we can improve access to UC through increasing awareness of the latest updates on UC admission policy and practice and fostering connection with UC campus admission staff.

Following guidelines established by the state of California, the Centers for Disease Control, and local governments, UC will host virtual sessions of the UC High School Counselor Conference.

We plan to host those online sessions during the same annual time frame - the first two weeks of September.

In addition to standard topics on freshman admission for the newer counselors, advanced evaluation, comprehensive review, and UC application tips, this year we will also offer sessions on topics including (but not limited to):

  • UC current student panel
  • UC student mental health and wellness support programs and services
  • Careers and Majors: What's the difference?
  • STEM majors at UC
  • Diversity initiatives: Supporting access and success
  • Undocumented student programs and services
  • Making the most of the Personal Insight Questions
  • Financial Aid and Scholarships

The session titles and descriptions will be posted later this summer. Registration will open later this summer as well. Registration fees have not been established, but UC is working hard to ensure counselors can maximize access to all sessions at minimal, if any, cost.
