Preview Day 2015, UC Santa Cruz's annual open house, took place on Saturday, October 17 and was attended by over 1000 people, including prospective students and their guests. Preview Day is designed to offer information about UCSC, to familiarize students and families with the campus, and to allow guests to connect with Admissions staff, current students, and other members of the UCSC community.

Our guests found out about:

  • UCSC's High-Impact Interdisciplinary Research and Teaching
  • Campus and Student Life
  • Our Distinctive Living and Learning Communities… the 10 Residential Colleges
  • Frosh and Transfer Admissions and Selection Criteria for Fall 2016

New for 2015: We offered UC application information sessions. These were separate freshman and transfer sessions.

A 60-minute, all-walking tour of the campus led by a trained student tour guide followed each information session.

The general campus tour covered:

  • Academic Divisional Overview
  • Residential College System and Dining Services
  • Campus Health and Safety
  • Student Organizations and Support Services

Former or current foster youth, runaways, and wards of the court were invited to join UCSC's Smith Renaissance Society on Preview Day for a luncheon and to learn more about how UCSC can support them in their educational endeavors.
