New Instagram Account for UCSC Admissions

In an effort to bring more of the authentic UC Santa Cruz experience to prospective students, UCSC Admissions established a new Instagram account in early January:

Designed to be an informal, quick way to get to know UCSC, our Instagram account features impromptu photos taken around campus and at events, along with short captions. Users can follow our account, "like" or "regram" (or repeat) our posts, share them via Facebook or Twitter, and leave comments.

Instagram is an increasingly popular social media channel, particularly among cell phone users. According to Digital Marketing Ramblings, as of late January, the program had more than 300 million monthly active users and 75 million daily active users, and according to Marketing Charts, as many as 43% of 18-to-29-year-old cell phone users have reported using Instagram.

So please encourage your students to sign up for our new account! We plan to post several new, up-to-date photos each week during the academic year.
