Prospective Student Tours
Regularly scheduled campus tours for prospective students and their families are offered throughout the year. Please view the campus tours reservation page to select from available tours.
Note about Campus Tours: We host visitors with disabilities and those requiring special accommodations. The tour includes transportation by bus and some rigorous walking, including stairs and hills. If you require special accommodations, please describe your needs in the text box provided when you reserve your tour.
Stand by or Self-Guided Tour Option
If tours are full on the date you wish to visit, please stop by the Cook House, located at the base of campus on the left as you enter the main entrance from Bay Street. Please park in our campus tours visitors parking to the right of the Cook House. Check in upstairs at the front desk and place your student’s name on our “stand by” list. Please note stand by reservations are available only for tours taking place that day. You must be physically present to register as a stand by guest. No phone or Internet stand by reservations are allowed.
The Office of Admissions provides free self-guided tour maps with a recommended walking route and information that is provided during our regular tour. Guests may utilize our free campus shuttle system to explore the campus or purchase a parking permit from the parking office.
We encourage all guests to attend the Admissions information session. The information session begins approximately 30 minutes before the tour departs.
Group Tour reservations (tours for schools, educational programs, or community-based organizations with groups of six or more people) can be made online. Group Tour requests are taken up to one year in advance.
Families should schedule a visit on one of our regular weekday tours, even if the group consists of more than five members.
We love animals, but please leave your pets at home. Dogs and cats are prohibited from the UCSC campus. Even if you bring your dog to campus and keep it inside your vehicle, you will be ticketed by Campus Police. Exemptions are granted for service dogs. For further information, go to UCSC’s Policy for Service Animals on Campus.
Also, we apologize, but we do not have enough parking space to accommodate RVs.
