Thank you for your interest

We look forward to hosting your group!

In-person group tours are offered to high schools, colleges, and community based organizations who work with students at the 9th grade level and above. Please contact the Tours Office at
visits@ucsc.edu or 831-459-4118 to request a link to register.

Group tours may include 10–100 guests. To support a safe and positive experience, we require one adult chaperone for every 15 students. Chaperone(s) must remain with the group for the entire duration of the tour and are responsible for helping maintain student safety and wellbeing throughout the visit.

What to Expect

Group tours are approximately 90 minutes and cover about 1.5 miles over hilly terrain, including many stairs. If any guests in your group have temporary or long-term mobility needs or require other accommodations, please contact our office at visits@ucsc.edu so we can recommend the best route options.

All UC Santa Cruz campus tours are a fully outdoor experience and do not include access to classroom buildings or student housing interiors. While topics such as housing, athletics, and dining are discussed during the tour, tour guides are not permitted to enter or lead groups through housing areas, athletics facilities, or dining halls.

At this time, UCSC Undergraduate Admissions does not provide meal vouchers. Group meals at a dining hall must be arranged by your group in advance. Contact UCSC Dining to make your request.

Group Tour Rules

  • We expect all visitors to uphold the values of UC Santa Cruz’s Principles of Community by being respectful, inclusive, and mindful of others in shared campus spaces. Chaperones should help manage group behavior, including limiting excessive talking and addressing any inappropriate actions or language.
  • If any behavior compromises the safety of others or significantly disrupts the tour experience, UC Santa Cruz Tour Guides reserve the right to end the tour at any time.
  • Charter buses may only drop-off/pick-up groups at two locations - Cowell Circle is our recommended location. Buses must park off- campus on Meder Street. If your group is traveling by bus, you must email taps@ucsc.edu at least 5 business days in advance to make arrangements for bus parking during your tour. Please note: Bus drop-off, parking, and pick-up areas are very limited on our campus.
  • Arriving late will result in a shortened tour. If your group arrives more than 15 minutes late, the tour can be canceled. Failure to communicate delays or no-shows (even if unforeseen) may impact your group’s ability to register for future tours.
  • The group contact is responsible for completing the required Group Conduct Form and confirming logistics by phone and/or email.
  • Tours are offered rain or shine! Guests are encouraged to check the forecast and dress accordingly. Umbrellas and ponchos are welcome!
  • Please email visits@ucsc.edu if you have any questions or concerns.
