- Shuttle Back to Parking Area

Faculty Remarks
Opening remarks from one of our esteemed professors and college provosts on the unique offerings at UC Santa Cruz.
Provost of Crown College, professor of microbiology and environmental toxicology. Professor Camps is also the director of UCSC’s Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurial Development. Provost Camps runs a lab focused on the role of genetic variation in protein and genomic evolution, including technology development that has generated intellectual property.
Provost of College Nine and John R. Lewis College, and professor of environmental studies. As an ecological anthropologist, she explores socio-environmental interrelationships in places like the Amazon rainforest, Galapagos Islands, and the UCSC campus, focusing on issues of equity, culture, livelihoods, and sustainability.
Professor Abrams is the Provost of Merrill College and a Senior Teaching Professor. Before joining UC Santa Cruz in 2000, she taught for six years at Harvard University, where she developed teaching and learning guides for the Harvard Writing Project.
